Thanks for the memories

OK – so Nine Inch Nails and Jane’s Addiction are on tour this summer.  The so-called “NIN|JA” tour (get it?) really doesn’t inspire me, even if it is the original Jane’s lineup back together after nearly two decades.

But, one positive development from the new marriage of these two bands is that NIN frontman Trent Reznor got Jane’s into the studio to record studio versions of “Chip Away” and “Whores”, originally available on the band’s 1987 self-titled live release.

And, the best part of the news is that the songs are available for free download at

Jane’s Addiction had about a 5-year window of brilliance at the beginning of their career on par with any band on the planet.  Remembering that by experiencing new studio versions of these classics is worth the small price of an email address.
