The list of all lists

Now here’s a fun list:

The 100 Greatest Indie Rock Albums of All Time

If you want a primer on some great music outside of the mainstream to explore adding to your musical collection, Amazon has done all the work for you.

I can’t agree with everything on the list – heck, I can’t even claim to have heard of all of these bands, but it certainly got my attention.

Entertainment Weekly’s Music Mix takes a stab at a critique of the list, specifically calling out the absence of Modest Mouse.

Me?  I’m no hater.  Just glad to see Pixies, Spoon, and The Dirtbombs among the artists on the list.

Pixies (David Lovering, Kim Deal, Joey Santiago, Black Francis)

Oh, and for the record, Guided By Voices take the top spot with their classic, Bee Thousand.

  1. Note: Most of these albums are available on emusic.com to download at dirt cheap rates. You know you want to join; its cheap and legal; so do it! At least get the new Animal Collective no matter how you can get it.
