All the President’s men take a backseat to this woman

Does the name Valerie Jarrett mean anything to you?  If you’re not a politico, then probably not.

But she has significant influence on President Barack Obama and, by extension, the state of the Union.  Read about her role on Obama’s staff and her status as one of the “two people he’s not going to say no to” in this week’s New York Times Magazine.

Valerie Jarrett

Jarrett’s official title is Senior Advisor and Assistant to the President for Intergovernmental Affairs and Public Liaison, but that mouthful doesn’t mean much out of context.

Take some time to read up on how she came to be accepted as “family” to the Obamas and why The Times calls her “the ultimate Obama insider”.

Oh, and that other person our President is not going to say no to?  If you didn’t already know that he’s not going to say no to the First Lady, then I’m guessing your relationship success rate might be a little below average.

  1. I think she is “the ultimate Obama insider” because Obama has been inside her many times. Ka-ching!
